James Clark Ross with the ships Erebus and Terror, 1839 - 1843.
1841 - HMS Erebus and Terror in Antarctica - active and dormant volcanoes on Ross Island were named after the ships. They later took Franklin to the Arctic on the ill fated North-West Passage Expedition, the wrecks were found in 2014 and 2016 in Arctic Canada.
