1911 - Before he went to Antarctica to take some of the most iconic pictures of the Heroic Age, Herbert Ponting visited Japan and brought back very rare photographs for the time of a country little known in the West. Here in the dark Antarctic winter he is giving an illustrated talk on his time there to the other winterers.
