Roald Amundsen, Norwegian South Pole Expedition on the ship Fram, 1910 - 1912.
1911 - Amundsen's Camp "Framheim" at the Bay of Whales, a natural ice harbour, the most southerly point in the world it was possible to sail to. The "Bay" no longer exists as it broke out in 1987 with the 154km long iceberg B-9.
