- "Sledging in a High Wind"
Manhauling with sail assistance, sketch by Edward Wilson. When the wind was in the right direction and steady, a sail could be erected on the sledge to aid with pulling the sledge, not quite sit on and have a ride, but a useful extra willing helper to share the load.
