Jules Sebastian Cesar Dumont D'Urville with the ships L'Astrolabe and Zéléé, 1837 - 1840.
1840 - Frenchman Dumont d'Urville discovers Terre Adélie (now the Adélie Coast) and names it after his wife. The Adélie penguin was named after the feature.
