Robert Falcon Scott, British Antarctic Expedition (South Pole Expedition) on the ship Terra Nova, 1910 - 1913.

1911 - Bernard Day, motor-mechanic on one of the motor sleds in front of Mount Erebus on Scott's final expedition. Formerly an employee of the Arrol Johnston Motor-Car Company, he was recruited by Shackleton to attend to the first car taken to Antarctica 4 years earlier.



Carsten E. Borchgrevink, British Antarctic Expedition on the ship Southern Cross, 1898 - 1900.

1898 - The first expedition to deliberately over winter in Antarctica departs Kristiana, Norway. It was financed by a wealthy British magazine publisher and had a largely Norwegian crew.
