Robert Falcon Scott, British Antarctic Expedition (South Pole Expedition) on the ship Terra Nova, 1910 - 1913.
1910 - Lawrence Oates, "Titus" or "The Soldier" on the Terra Nova with some of the 19 Siberian ponies under his care on the way to Antarctica. He was to become legendary for "I am just going out and may be some time" when he sacrificed himself on the return from the South Pole.
